It is vital in identifying why a student has attended a course as this will allow the trainer to adjust and plan any future training sessions. Once a trainer has identified the particular needs, only then can they put into place strategies to assist them. It’s possible that this may not be the appropriate course for the student and if so assistance should be provided for them to fine the most suitable course.
Some learners may have special needs such as Dyslexia, should this be identified at an early stage then the trainer is in a better position to offer support.
