In general, with the features of a business this would be put in two specific categories being Private and Public. With private, this would be mainly for profit businesses as they would rely on different examples being it could be a sole trader, partnership, private limited company, public limited company, cooperative and depending which liability it would rely on. As for the Public, this would mainly for not for profit businesses as they rely on the examples being the government department funding for the business as it may be a charitable trust or being the community or voluntary.
Ownership & Liability: With the ownership of Cancer research, we would see that it would be a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, is governed by a Council of Trustees, the Charity’s board of directors. it would show that it would have a limited liability meaning that the members of the company are liable for the company’s debts or liabilities.
Purpose: With the purpose this would be the businesses aim in general
We would see that the purpose would be to reduce more deaths that are being caused by cancer. Also, to carry out world class research to improve their understanding of cancer and finding out different ways of how to prevent, diagnose and treat different kinds of cancer. They ensure that their findings are used to improve the lives of all cancer patients and to help people to understand cancer.
Sector: With sectors they would rely on primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary.
We would see this fall into tertiary as this would provide service being that their aim is to help people with illnesses such as cancer and would also help with skills support as it would help training for staff. With Quaternary it would be shown as this sector would include the research and development stage therefore showing that it would rely on information from the tertiary sector and help test the products they need to beat cancer and try to develop new ways be exploring different methods.
Scope: With the scope, this would be measuring if the business would fall into
We would see that the businesses scope would be local and national as it would be local it would want to spread the businesses awareness around local neighbourhoods and then therefore being able to spread across the country and gain more volunteers.
Size: Micro up to nine staff, Small and Medium Enterprises small between 10 and 49 staff, medium between 50 and 249 staff large more than 250 staff.
We would see that the business would consist of 3924 employees in 2015. Now it would consist of over 40,000 people who would be regular volunteers.
