Human gender identity, or in other words assigned sex has overwhelmed the world and placed numerous erratic roles onto the male and female sexes. The purpose of gender identity is much deeper than whether the person is male and female. All throughout humanity there were and still are differences in both sex roles. Traditional and environmental factors all play role in characteristic of a person’s gender identity. Men and women are not only just defined as gender roles, they have freedom to pursue the lifestyle that is best for themselves and their families. For example, the choice for women to be a homemaker is reliable in the traditional role of developing woman. However, the view of motherhood as career is arguably a nontraditional concept for the role. In contrast, men become more aware by tradition in their attitudes towards their first child. The traditional view for men and women both have correspondingly changed in the social norms, both work and family roles.
Many of fathers adopt more views on motherhood towards their first child’s birth, especially within part of housework and caregiving. The traditional gender understandings can also be seen in women on some occasions, but they also become more wide-ranging on others. The change towards traditional views is more defined in men and brings wide range of issues. For the most part both men and women are expected to share equal housework and care for their children, especially if they have outside jobs. In this case, the idea of equality in both partners is expected, while some of partners show less support to their children. This causes one (usually the man) to show less support of their household.
In addition, gender inequality results in weaker outcomes for men. Traditional stereotypes often thrown at men are often difficult to live up to because men are pressed to be a “real man.” The physical, emotional strength and financial demonstration as breadwinner is highly pushed on men. Therefore, living up to this tradition leads to feeling short which causes men to be depressed.
All throughout times arguments ascend when two partners both work fulltime time and one person (usually the woman) feels she is spending more time and energy in home, instead she could be using the same amount of energy at work. Afterward, every being is adopted to a gender attitude, so if this is approached in a more liberal perspective, then this often lead to women doing most of the housework, aside from whether both partners work fulltime.
Despite the fact that gender roles are evolving faster pace than ever, and gender expectations are moving at a much slower pace. Generally speaking, women are expected to be the ones to take time off work to stay home with their sick child, and to run errands as the homemaker, at the same time, they are sacrificing the most out of their time and energy away from their workplace to run a household, of course this isn’t fair, but, it is tradition. Along with a more modern wealthier income home, this wouldn’t be endured. For the fact that extra responsibilities would affect her potential career, as well as poorly affecting her health of being tired by work a fulltime job and then trying to do a fulltime homemaking.
On the other hand, women are devoted to push into the role of breadwinning, essentially between themselves and male breadwinners. These women are still mentally connected to home, in spite of job responsibilities. At the same time, they relate better to the same point of pressure men tend to face. Females breadwinners are involved with their families than male breadwinners that aren’t and offer their partner an enhance share of understandings of family life. Men who stay at home with their children establish only small silver of the American population. Also, those of American men who stay at home are those who earn less in family income. Individuals who stay home do not account on behalf of family income. Double-income is overlooked in family preparation.
In conclusion, while human gender may begin with the assigned of our sex, we now know it doesn’t end there. Researchers and psychologists don’t know the exact causes of gender identity and sexual orientation, but so far there are factors that support the common misunderstanding. The male and female genders each different in many areas, both psychologically and physically but neither is brought to be “superior” than the other. In most cases, when toddler is in certain age of understanding the idea of their identity and what gender they belong to see how their parent’s actions influence their lives and see what the appropriate actions are for their gender.
