Greed, as soon as you hear that word what do you think? The definition of greed is that it is an intense and selfish desire for something, esp. wealth, power or food. While most people view greed as something to be looked down upon, while in actuality greed can be both good and bad. Greed is the motivation for businesses; without it business owners would not succeed personally in a business perspective. This is actually the first time that I have thought that greed is good because
Many of us have been brought up thinking that greed is a negative thing. Because of that, of course I still see greed as something to be looked down upon. Though now I understand in a business perspective how greed can be positive. In my opinion I believe that greed is not good because it can bring out the worst in people; for example Many people have turned into a selfish and heartless humans because of greed, they would do anything to get money. As a result of greed they are driven mad, just wanting more and more money and never being satisfied with the vast amount of money they have. Sure greed drives our businesses which drives our country, but personally if someone was greedy no one would like them.
But that brings up how greed can help innovate our world. When someone wants to get lots of money they want to create new things for everyone to buy. These new things will push humanity forward and make it more advanced. Greed brings competition and that will boost economies creating new jobs and opportunities for millions of people. These people will serve as role models and more people will have the desire to get rich. This creates a chain reaction with more positive impacts than negative.
We can conclude that greed has its ups and downs but it matters how it is put to use. You also have to think what perspective you want to look at it from. Think about if greed is good or bad.
